Robert Curry (Tug)  Tuggle
Brewer- Robert Curry “Tug” Tuggle, 82, died Monday, February 27, 2012, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born March 15, 1929, in Alanta, Georgia to Robert Leonard Curry and Anne Jewel White Tuggle. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Philippines and Guam during the clean up efforts after WWII. In 1992, he retired as a power tool assembly machinist, from Rockwell/Delta after 24 years of service. He loved riding his Harley’s and roller skating. Also, he enjoyed working on cars, riding his tractor and spending time with his family. He was a Baptist by faith.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with the Elder Steve Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years; Patricia Dye Tuggle; three daughters, Rhonda Weaver (Steve) of Shannon, Lynda Jackson (David) of Nettleton, Carla Tuggle Stewart of Brewer; one son, Randy Tuggle of Brewer; nine grandchildren, Todd Weaver (Kim) of Ailkin, South Carolina, Susan Britt of LaVergne, Tennessee, Matthew Jackson and Becky Jackson both of Nettleton, Chris Stewart (Amanda) of Dorsey, Cory Tuggle (Eva) and Josh Stewart all of Brewer, Chelsey Tuggle and Ethan Tuggle both of Northport, Alabama; thirteen great-grandchildren, Michael Fondren, Autumn Weaver, Levi Britt, Cameron Weaver, Logan Jackson, Zach Britt, Austin Jackson, Caylee Jackson, Dylon Jackson, Christen Stewart, Tabitha Reed, Alexander Curry Tuggle,and Lillian Stewart; a host of nephews and nieces in Mississippi, Texas and North Carolina; his caregivers at NMMC Hospice, Rhonda Burrow, Beth Buse and all other employees who helped with his care.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mamie Marsengill and Rosie Mae Tuggle.

Pallbearers will be Todd Weaver, Randy Tuggle, Cory Tuggle, Josh Stewart, Ethan Tuggle, and Tim Wardlow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Dye, David Jackson, Steve Weaver and Greg Coggin.

Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the funeral home.
