Obituary for Mobley Joseph Robinson

PONTOTOC--Mobley Joseph Robinson passed into the eternal care of the Lord God, merciful and gracious, on Sunday, February 26, 2012. Born May 14, 2010, we were given 22 wonderful months with him on this side of eternity. Mobley was the youngest son of Matthew and Meagan Robinson of Pontotoc.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Pegues Funeral Home at 535 West Jefferson Street in Tupelo, Mississippi. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 1st at Lawndale Presbyterian Church at 1500 Lawndale Drive, Tupelo, Mississippi; with Rev. John Snyder of Christ Church New Albany officiating. Burial will be at Tupelo Memorial Park with no graveside service.

Mobley is survived by his parents; two sisters, Michaela and Magnolia; one brother, Miles; his grandparents, Nancy and John Bishop of Smithville, Mike and Rhonda Altom of Chesterville, and John and Peggie Robinson of Tupelo; his aunts and uncles, Michael Altom, Melissa Funderburk, Stephanie Kennedy, Brandon Holley, and Dr. John White; and several beloved cousins. Pallbearers will be Michael Altom, Ron Brandon, Brandon Holley and Jon Yerby.

"And if ye will take the loan of a child, and give him back again to our Lord smiling, (as His borrowed goods should return to Him), believe that he is not gone away, but sent before; and that the change of the country should make you think, that he is not lost to you who is found to Christ, and that he is now before you; and that the dead in Christ shall be raised again. A going-down star is not annihilated, but shall appear again. If he hath casten his bloom and flower, the bloom is fallen in heaven, into Christ's lap. And as he was lent a while to time, so is he given now to eternity, which will take yourself. The difference of your shipping and his to heaven and Christ's shore, the land of life, is only in some few years, which weareth every day shorter; and some short and soonreckoned summers will give you a meeting with him. But what! With him? Nay, but with a better company; with the Chief and Leader of the heavenly troops, that are riding on white horses, that are triumphing in glory." — Samuel Rutherford (1600-1661); Letters.

In lieu of flowers, Matt and Meagan are requesting that Christians joyfully participate in the Great Commission by giving sacrificially to HeartCry Missionary Society at www.heartcrymissionary.com or through Christ Church New Albany, 608 Hamilton Drive, New Albany, MS 38652.

"Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them." - Psalm 139:16
