Weddington, N.C.-- Esther Rogers Pannell, age 91, of, formerly of Tupelo, Mississippi, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center of Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe, NC.
Mrs. Pannell was born on June 27, 1920, in Bourg, Louisiana, a daughter of the late Clovis Joseph Rogers and Alice Robichaux Rogers. She was a member of West Main Church of Christ.

Services will be 12:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2012, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues. Burial will follow in the Chesterville Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Alice Pannell Roberts and husband John Roberts of Weddington, NC; two grandchildren, Jill Roberts Keane (Michael) of Washington, DC and Michael Roberts of Auburn, Al and one great grandchild, Siobhan Ella Keane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Pannell in 2010, a son, Michael James Pannell in 1969, six brothers, Garner Rogers, Nolan Rogers, Mike Rogers, Guy Rogers, Hugh Rogers and Raymond Rogers; two sisters, Phyllis Aucoin and Norma Arseneaux.


The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
