W.E. Pegues has been proud to sponsor the "Lil Rebels" 4 year old T-ball team.

W.E. Pegues recently hosted a Veterans Day tribute to our men and women who have served and are now serving in our armed forces.  Together with The Tupelo Department of Parks and Recreation, over $5, 000 was raised to expand the city's war memorial at Veteran's Park.  The night began with a spaghetti supper, followed by a show presented by the Tupelo High School Wave Connection.  The evening also included a musical tribute to each branch of our armed forces, posting of the colors, and concluded with a touching re-enactment of the raising of the American Flag at Iwo Jima.

Robert Gregory Pegues was recently installed as president of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association at their annual convention held in Gulf Port.   Following the tradition of his family, he is the fourth member of the W.E. Pegues family to serve in this capacity, including his father, William E. “Bill” Pegues, Jr. who served as MFDA president in 1986-87, and his uncle, Len Pegues who served as president in 1971-72.

The Mississippi Funeral Directors Association was formed to cultivate and promote the art and science of funeral directing and embalming: to elevate and sustain the professional character and education of the funeral directors and embalmers; to encourage among them mutual improvement, social interaction and good will and to the necessity and desirability of enacting and enforcing proper, just and uniform laws pertaining to funeral directing and embalming in the State of Mississippi. This is indeed an honor for our firm.

After 23 years, Ed Pegues has announced his retirement from W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors where he has served as office manager.  He has been an invaluable asset to the firm throughout his tenure.

While his presence will definitely be missed, he leaves his duties in capable hands as the Pegues family continues to carry out the 119 year tradition of caring professional service.
