Obituary for Edna Ritter (Price)

Tupelo - Edna Price Ritter, 89, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at her residence after a brief illness. A Tupelo native and longtime resident, she was born January 24, 1922 to Arthur Walter and Katherine Alice Furr Price. She worked a number of years as a billing clerk for Hunter-Saddler Mfg. and later as office manager for Saddler Industries over 25 years. The love and dedication she had for her church, Wesley United Methodist, led to her becoming the longest living member. She was also a former member of the Tupelo Fire Fighters Ladies Axillary. She was the widow of Mitchell Ritter.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Hershel Wiygul officiating. Her niece, Rev. Dr. Sandra Price will assist. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include her son, Paul Ritter (Regina) of Blue Springs; three grandchildren, Michael Ritter (Shelby) of Hattiesburg, Sandy Northington (David) of Prattville, Ala. and Jamie Ritter-McCracken of Montgomery, Ala.; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mitchell Ritter; a son, James Roy Ritter; her brother, A.W. Price Jr; a sister, Martha Price Crum; and a granddaughter, Alice Jones.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ritter,William Northington, Bryant Northington, Heith McCracken, David Northington and Bill Allen.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
