Obituary for Mack Elbert Hankins

MACK E. HANKINS

Mooreville - Mack Elbert Hankins, 70, died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at his residence in Mooreville after a sudden illness. An Itawamba County native, he was born June 5, 1941 to Hezie Chy and Mildred Beatrice Towery Hankins. He was an inspector with Elger Plumbing retiring after 42 years of service. His life was devoted to his family, and friends and careing for his Black Lab "Chloe". He enjoyed working on his farm and keeping his lawn and garden. He attended Tupelo Baptist Church with his family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Mike Drewery officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Mantachie.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Saundra (Sue) Hankins of Mooreville; his son Timothy Mack Hankins of Mooreville; four sisters, Elizabeth Joan Case (Larry) of Hernando, Evelyn Rogers of Saltillo, Patsy Gray (Jimmy) of Mooreville, and Cathie Miller (Gary) of Tupelo; his special aunt, Elizabeth McCollum of Nettleton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Larry David Hankins who died in 1965.

Pallbearers will be Van Peters, Rexel Peters, Ricky Harris, Clarence Thurman, Brian Gray, and Dennis Nolan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 at W. E. Pegues on Jefferson Street.
