Obituary for Martha Jean J. Taylor

Martha Jean J.  Taylor
Saltillo- Martha Jean Taylor, 79, died Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Graceland Health Care Center in New Albany after an extended illness. A Corinth native, she was born January 14, 1932 to Fred McAnally and Mittie Marie Ellis Key. She was an avid reader and loved to work with her plants in her yard. She was a member of Mayfield and Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Adam T. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.

Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Huntington (Les) of New Albany, Robin Wages (Ricky) of Birmingham, Alabama and Gina Tyra of San Antonio, Texas; three sons, Jerry Taylor (Ann) of Saltillo, Tracy Taylor (Patricia) of Tupelo and Dale Taylor (Brandy) of Saltillo; eleven grandchildren, Denise Billings of Pensacola,Florida, Kristi Munlin (Jason of Pontotoc, Angie Taylor of Saltillo, Misty Taylor of Saltillo, Joey and Andrew Wages of Birmingham, Alabama, Eric Tyra of San Antonio, Texas, Kelli and Jessica Taylor of Tupelo and Ali and Clay Taylor of Saltillo; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Merle "Red" Taylor and one sister, Bobbie Sue McCormick.

Pallbearers will be Les Huntington, Ricky Wages, Eric Tyra, Andrew Wages, Jack McCormick and Joey Wages.

Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
