Obituary for Mary Weatherford

Mooreville-- Mary Ellen Weatherford, 84, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Pontotoc after an extended illness. A Prentiss County native, she was born March 8, 1927, to Wilburn Abner and Catherine Davis Caldwell. She graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1945 and married Roger Hugh Weatherford the same year. She was retired from Comcast Cablevision after over 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and visiting with friends and family on the phone. She also loved to garden and work in her flowers. She was a member of Boguefala Baptist Church.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Homan (B.W. "Bubba") of Tupelo and Jane Gatlin (Jim) of Oxford; one son, Eddy Weatherford (Linda) of Tupelo; her grandchildren, April Guess (Terry) of Blue Springs, Becky Fisher (Roy) of Nashville, Melanie Russell (Chad) of Olive Branch, Ginger Byrd (Josh) of Brandon, Teresa Reeves (Terry) of Tremont, and Wanda Sullivan of Tupelo; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Roger Weatherford who died Jan. 22, 2011; and her brother Allen Caldwell.

Pallbearers will be Terry Reeves, Chad Russell, Terry Guess, Josh Byrd, Shane Reeves, and Blake Nichols.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
