Obituary for Robert Allen Tennison

Saltillo - Robert Allen Tennison, 84, died Thursday, November 17, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born August 12, 1927, in the Burton Community of Prentiss County, to Robert Kelly and Stella Avo Holley Tennison. For forty years he worked for M. D. O. T. as a lab tech. He loved working in his Garden, being outside, fishing and especially his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saltillo.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011, at The Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Marc Howard and Rev. Bret McKee officiating and a Eulogy by Barry Boyd. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter, Patsy Kemp of Saltillo; two sons, Buddy Tennison (Brenda) of Plantersville and Brian Tennison (Angie) of Saltillo; four sisters; Margaret Swindol of Booneville, Sue Moore (Stanley) of Alapaha, Georgia, Yvonne Moat of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Anita White (Doug) of Booneville; two brothers, Gerald Tennison (Shirley) of the Burton Community and Bill Tennison of Alapaha, Georgia; five grandchildren, Terry Land, Ben Proulx, Casey Tennison, Bailey Tennison and Lindsey Tennison; seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 63 years, Billie Tennison; and a granddaughter Brandi Tennison.

Pallbearers will be Barry Boyd, Eddie Tennison, Jim Michaels, Troy Cresap, Richie Kimbrough, James Woodall, Marshall Sage and Doug Thornton.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
