Obituary for Donald Winders

Saltillo - Raymond Donald Winders, 76, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence in the Natchez Trace Villas. A Tupelo native, he was born April 22, 1935 to Raymond Lee and Ruby Lucille Kazziah Winders. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Pilot Cadet. He was raised in The Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church in Tupelo. He worked twenty plus years as a car salesman at George Ruff and recently owned his own insurance agency. He also owned the Hot Tub Store in Tupelo.

Services will be 2 p.m., February 12, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Glen Martin and Rev. Mark Cayson officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.

Survivors include beloved wife Mary Quana Cayson Winders of Saltillo; three children, Kimberly Daniel (Edwin) of Jackson, Don Winders (Sharen) of Orlando, Fla. and Amanda Thomason (Keith) of Saltillo; one sister, Pat Martin (Glen); six grandchildren, David Daniel, and Megan Daniel McCarty (Cole), Britany Winders, Don “Trey” Winders III, Robert Thomason, and Breanna Thomason; special niece Patsy Harris of Tupelo and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Billy Burks, Bob Bennett, Robert Lunston , Charles Davidson, Wagner Johns and Henry Humphrey.

Honorary Pallbearers wil be Ed Crider, and Freddy White.

Visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Harrisburg Baptist Church Building Fund, Calvary Baptist Church or Open Doors.
